Combining UK National Insurance with Income Tax
Having two so very different forms of taxation i believe is unfair and complicates calculation. I believe that the most glaring unfairness is that national insurance contributions are capped such that if you earn more than £xxx you pay no further NI on anything above that amount. I believe that upper limit should be abolished, I would phase this in by raising the threshold by 50% of its previous level each year going forward. At the same time i would look at reducing the rate itself down from 11% to 10%
Road Tax
- All Vehicles should be gps tagged as part of their Road Tax Licence.
- Vehicles should be taxed for the time and space they occupy public roads. ie if it’s a big car you pay more and parking on public roads is no longer free.
- Pedal Bicycles would not be tagged or taxed.
Police. If I were prime minister…
I believe in law and order and that means police. If i were PM my policies would be…
- There should be 1 officer per 100 people in the UK population with the diversity trending towards the population they serve
- All officers regardless of rank should go out on patrol between 1 and 5 days per week. No more, no less. They need to see the real world and we need to not wear them out.
- All Police uniforms should be GPS tagged and this information used to identify gaps in patrols and remedy them.
- All Police uniforms should include audio/video cameras to be used as evidence. Content should be purged after 60 days unless used in a trial, content should be uploaded securely so even if the camera were stolen its content would still be available
- Each high street should have a front desk where an officer is always available 24/7. These Civic Help Shops might also include advisers or other government services.
- Once a year each officer should spend a week working in another part of the country.
Alchohol should be a privilage not a right
It should be illegal to sell alhohol to anyone who does not hold a drinking licence.
Licences should be free
Public disorder and other crimes should put points on the offenders drinking licence.
6 points in a year and the offender should loose their drinking licence for 12 months.
Life sentances should mean life in a penal colony.
Life sentances should mean life, and life should be hard.
The falklands should be turned into a penal colony for such people.
UK Government – 2nd Chamber Reform
I belive that the following changes should be made
- replace house of lords with a house of 300 representatives
- elect 1/3 of representatives every 2 years – with 6 year terms
- proportional representation
- code of behavior
- breaking the code of behavior 3 times results in 6 month exclusion from chamber & voting.
